Hello my beautiful bookish people!

In case you’re not already one of my YouTube subscribers, that’s how I open my videos. I am disabled (Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other comorbities) and lead a rather uninteresting life which I fill with many books. Anyways, my name is Victoria Mendes. I’m your regular, friendly neighborhood basic bish who thoroughly enjoys fall and pretty much anything pumpkin spice related. Yes, I love wearing leggings, tunics/sweaters, and scarves; and, no, I don’t have a pair of Uggs (yet). In case you’re wondering about my sexuality and gender, I’m pansexual and somewhat gender fluid – I typically answer to she/her/they. I even made a whole coming out video to explain that stuff … which I’m still too chicken to show my parents – whoopsies.
If you haven’t already figured it out, I’m also an introvert and a Gryffinclaw. (Yes, that’s a mashup between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw – I’m basically Hermione.) *wracks brain to try to think of other interesting things about myself* I’m a rather avid home cook (I also own/write cannycuisine.com). Oh, and right now my favorite genre is fantasy/sci-fi, but I do like a variety of other fictional subcategories as well (depends on what I’m in the mood for). I have also been known to move fairly frequently, but I’m currently based out of central-ish Ohio. BTW we do not stan J.K. Rowling in this household – TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN.
This blog is meant to be a place where I can write about the books I read or other things I happen to get up to. I’ll probably also link in my cooking stuff on this blog because I want a repository where I can see the content I create somewhat condensed in one place.
My current goals are to get better at book reviews (so that one day I can maybe be self-employed) and have fun making bookish friends via the interwebs. At the moment I’m a stay at home mom (to two budgies) … because health issues.
Other random facts about me: I can knit and crochet. I used to play pennywhistle, violin, and piano. I have loose ligaments in my knees and can thusly predict when there will be rain soon because I can’t walk like a normal human anymore. I have asthma and vocal cord dysfunction – which is to say I can’t breathe and I can’t breathe. I also get bouts of insomnia from time to time; while I’m writing this is one of those times. Oh and my newest diagnosis is Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome because my joints don’t work and I probably also have Dysautonomia but we’re fighting with insurance to cover diagnostic testing to confirm that. Yayyyyyyy – we love a dysfunctional queen!
1xrv8vbrfgc1crfv5tg <— that was me literally rolling my face on my keyboard.
I have a very odd sense of humor; I hope you enjoy it. 😅🙃
You can find me on many social media platforms under a few different handles. I’ve linked them in the social media menu.
That’s all I have for now. If you have any questions, feel free to drop it/them in a comment. K thanx baiiiiii ❤ Victoria ❤
