Autumn Essentials Readathon

*note* this page has been updated to include alternate text for the bingo boards — if the alt text is confusing, please let me know so I can fix it.

The TL;DR Version:

  • The whole month of October
  • Pick a team (Pumpkin Spice, Cozy Sweater, Boxed Wine)
  • Adapt any of the prompts to your needs
  • All forms of books are books
  • Read as many or few books as you want – if you can say how 1 book fulfills 3 prompts on the bingo board to get a bingo then that counts too!
  • Just have fun with it!
  • There are 6 hosts this year – 2 for each team
  • #AutumnEssentialsReadathon, #TeamPumpkinSpice, #TeamCozySweater, #TeamBoxedWine
  • Twitter @AutumnReadathon, Instagram @autumnessentialsreadathon, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/910137876148255/?ref=share
  • Since the announcement video there has been a change in a team boxed wine prompt. The new version reads “Moscato – a boxed white wine often shared with friends – Read Something Outside Your Own Cultural “Box”

Some Background:

Welcome to the Autumn Essentials Readathon! If you’d like to know the background on how this readathon was created check out this blog post that started it all: https://victoriarmendes.wordpress.com/2019/09/05/basic-bish-readathon-announcement/

We’d like to start out by saying that this readathon is just out here to encourage people to read. If these prompts do not fit your needs we encourage you to adapt them to whatever way works for you.

While the Autumn Essentials Readathon runs the whole month of October and is hosted by people in the northern hemisphere this year, we recognize that people who live in different climates may be experiencing different seasons/temperatures. If you’d rather adapt these prompts to your climate/season please do so!

To “win”, pick a team! Each team has a bingo board themed around it’s namesake. You can read one book or nine books – as long as you can say how it meets the prompt, it counts! Graphic Novels, Manga, Physical Books, eBooks, Audio Books – any form of book can be counted as long as you have consumed the knowledge conveyed in the book!
